The Subject
Buckden, Cambridgeshire. The painting depicts the south side of Church Street, which comprises a row of particularly fine historic buildings, all listed for their special architectural and historic interest. These include, from the right, a 17th century farmhouse; an early 19th century house; an 18th century vicarage; and a 15th century guildhall converted and extended into a manor house in the 17th century.
