A watercolour measuring 8½” x 11½”. Signed with monogram. Inscribed verso: ‘A.E. Snow from RBTK Xmas ’25, 26 Park Mansions, Battersea Park, London SW4. Come and see us soon? I am a “terrier” adjutant in Chelsea now.’ Together with full signature.

About the Artist
Richard Barett Talbot Kelly (1896-1971) was a painter of birds and historical subjects. He came from a well-known family of painters: his grandfather Robert George Kelly (1822-1910) was a painter of Irish and Scottish landscapes, and his father Robert George Talbot Kelly (1861-1934) painted landscapes and figurative subjects in Egypt and Morocco. Richard Barett Talbot Kelly was elected a Member of the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours in 1925, the year this painting was inscribed. He exhibited widely including at the Brook Street Art Gallery (68), Glasgow Institute of the Fine Arts (1), Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool (18), Royal Academy (5), Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours (73), and Royal Institute of Oil Painters (1).
