A watercolour measuring 13¾” x 20”. Signed W.W. Acock and inscribed: ‘A Country Road, Nr Thrapston, Northamptonshire’. Provenance: sometime with the Kenulf Gallery, Winchcombe, Gloucestershire.
About the Artist
Walter William Acock (d. 1933) was a painter of still life and landscapes who flourished in the 1870s. He taught drawing in Croydon in South London. He exhibited at the Suffolk Street Gallery in London in 1870 and 1871. For the last thirty years of his life he was blind.
